Hi there— I’m Alex Young, puppeteer, maker, and experimental theatre artist. I’m a founding member of Dream Eaters Collective. I am a recent graduate of the Curious School of Puppetry. I have a B.A. in Theatre Studies from Duke University.

My puppetry has been seen at the Minnesota Fringe Festival, LaMaMa Puppetry Slam, NYC International Shadow Slam, LA Guild of Puppetry, Ballard Institute, Nasty Brutish Short, Open Eye Figure Theatre, In the Heart of the Beast Mask and Puppet Theatre, and the Prague Quadrennial.

Dream Eaters Collective were awarded a workshop grant from the Jim Henson Foundation and participated in residencies at Tofte Lake Center and Manship Arts.

I’m passionate about all forms of puppetry, but I have a special focus in shadow puppetry. Please feel free to explore my work. I’m currently available for new projects.
